Terms

The short version.

Your stories belong to you. You own everything you record, write, and upload to Retold, and everything Retold writes from it for you: summaries, stories, and book chapters. We only use it to run the app for you, as described in our privacy page.

What Retold is, and isn't. Retold helps you tell and keep your memories. It is not therapy, medical care, or a crisis service, and it does not diagnose or give advice. If you are in danger or in crisis, contact your local emergency number or find a line at findahelpline.com.

Other people in your stories. Memories often include other people. Please share outputs, like a book, thoughtfully, and only record someone else's voice with their permission.

Using it fairly. Don't use Retold to harass anyone, to store content that is illegal where you live, or to try to get at anyone else's account or data. Retold has usage limits so one account can't overwhelm it; everyday use stays far below them.

Leaving. You can export everything and delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion destroys your encryption key and can't be undone.

Changes. If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
